The National Association of Letter carriers will conduct the nationwide “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Saturday. Postal patrons are encouraged to place containers with non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes on Saturday. Local letter carriers will collect the donated items as they proceed through their mail routes. City and rural postal customers are encouraged to participate. Post office box customers may leave their non-perishable food donations in the lobby at their respective post office.
This is the 23rd year for the Stamp Out Hunger campaign nationwide and the 17th year that the Ballinger Post Office has participated in the event. In the 17 years, the Ballinger Post Office has collected over 51,000 pounds of food for the Ballinger Community Pantry.
